Carol Fleischman

Carol Fleischman (1954, Caracas, Venezuela,) entered the art world in 1992 through her work as a copywriter. She followed an untraditional path and studied with two artists. Her activity focused on large-format oil paintings inspired by everyday life, and she exhibited her works while engaged in the study of contemporary art.

In 2013 she moved to Barcelona and came into contact with the Teranyina Textile Workshop, which allowed her to open up to the textile world. The warp and weft, the fibres in their infinite combinations of colours and textures become part of her life. In Barcelona she also makes prints. Printing allows you to consolidate elements of textile work by marrying both expressions.

Both in the tapestries and in the prints, she literally tries to weave an idea with a creative process that unites them, the fibre. Sometimes there are images that serve as a support, but in the end the subject is the protagonist.
