Ramon Puig

Ramon Puig Cuyàs (1953, Barcelona,) specialised in jewellery at the Escuela Massana, Barcelona from 1969 to 1974, and was also a professor of jewellery design and projects from 1977 to 2016.

He is one of the creators with the most projection and international recognition in the field of artistic jewellery. As a professor he has been invited to schools and universities, among others: Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art in London. The Rietveld Akademy, Amsterdam and many other schools and organisations. He has also participated as an expert consultant and curator of awards and exhibitions, among others: “80 Años de Joyería y Orfebrería Catalanas”, la Caixa, and as an expert consultant for the “Loewe Craft Prize 2017 y 2018”, Madrid.

Among others, he has received the ‘Fundación General Mediterránea, Barcelona (1975)’, and in Germany, the ‘Premio Herbert Hofmann’ in the 1981, 1984 and 1995 editions,’ as well as a special mention from the Design Jury, ‘Premios Ciudad de Barcelona 2001’, and in 2009 the ‘Diploma Maestro Artesano, Generalitat de Cataluña, Barcelona.’

His work has been continuously exhibited in major cities around the world, and is part of the most important private and public jewellery collections around the world.
