Lagranja. Jarvis stool, produced by Il·lacions
A fusion of recycling, craft and aesthetic experimentation.
Founded in 2002, Lagranja is a multidisciplinary design firm, whose talented team mainly concentrate on creating interiors and products. Design at Lagranja has always drawn on ideas and strategies, but never on trends. “We sit round the table with a list that sets what we should and shouldn’t do. We believe that every project is unique and has to be approached differently. We try to understand the context, we ask ourselves and our clients a lot of questions, we come up with strategies, seek out the most suitable tools and team. And we let everything flow out of that.”
At a time in which packaging is ubiquitous and far too prominent, the Jarvis stools have turned it into furniture. Made of recycled paper pulp, it is a limited collection of 50 in three colours. The raw material, once processed with water and glue, forms a highly resistant unit thanks to its geometry that includes a central reinforcement rib.
