Jordi Traveria

Jordi Traveria (1975, Olot,) studied artistic glass techniques at the Fundación Centro del Vidrio and the Escuela Massana, in addition to his training at the Escuela Industrial.

Fired clay and later glass, are materials that for 20 years have generated the impulse to create pieces. and shape the artistic concerns of the creator. The alchemical process of transformation that the materials undergo inside the kiln, at 900 degrees, is a reason for constant research and artistic practice.

The crystallisation within the volcanic rocks around the Croscat is a source of passion. The attraction for the symbiosis between opacity and transparency.

The Vall d’en Bas, where his workshop is located, and the volcanic area of La Garrotxa, are elements that inspire and define the artist’s visual narrative. The textures of the matter and the research, are the backbone of his creations.
