Bussoga – GALET
A functional yet symbolic piece that extends the concept of a soup bowl to a small sculpture for everyday use.
The main focus of the Bussoga studio is design related to mathematics (from modular objects to patterns) on the one hand, and mural art and ceramics on the other. The fusion of these concepts is reflected in ingenious patterns that transposed onto ceramics turn into products that accentuate spaces and give them character.
Galet is a soup bowl in the shape of a conch shell made of white glazed ceramic. The piece was designed with Christmas in Catalonia in mind (sopa de galets is a dish traditionally served at Christmas), but is now sold all over Spain all year round. It was created by Bussoga’s team, but a number of craftspeople are involved in its production: Ció Abellí (mould-maker), Mario Sousa (mould setter), EsCultura BCN (casting and glaze) and Bussoga (design and production management).
