Jordi Canudas Faura – Less Lamp
Through trial and error, and by playing around with light and materials, new ways are sought to relate to and perceive physical matter.
Jordi’s work starts out as a conceptual idea, following which prototypes are made and directly tested on the materials. He is involved in a wide range of fields, from product design, product development, art direction, interior design and one-off productions.
Less Lamp is a sealed light shade that must be broken in order to release the light trapped inside it. This outer shell is broken using a hammer especially designed for this use. The user decides on the position of the holes depending on where the light is to be directed and the lamp’s desired ultimate appearance. This piece forms part of the permanent collection at MoMa in New York.
